WHO WE ARE • BACKGROUND

MOBILE SAFARI & LODGE OPERATOR FOUNDED IN 1996

Bush Ways was born from an intense love for the African bush to provide travelling experiences based on personalised attention and to offer great value for money safaris, genuine cultural encounters and authentic bush experiences to our guests.

Marc Germiquet

I started seriously working in the safari industry in 1991 after having been a tour guide covering the wilderness areas in both southern and eastern Africa.

After completing a tour across the length of Africa from the extreme north to the tip of the Cape my goal was set on creating safaris of my own with a mind to offering down-to-earth tours with a personal touch.

My skills acquired during my travels and my intense love for nature contributed richly to the quality of the trails we offer. Our co-workers share the same passion and commitment as we do.

Bush Ways Safaris was consequently born in 1996 and we continue to offer incredible value with a balance of personal attention, knowledge of the area and professionalism.

My involvement with the safari industry began in 1992 and, like Marc, I was involved in guiding in both south and east Africa.

Having been school friends, Marc and I realised our paths followed the same route and we joined forces in 1997 with the aim of building Bush Ways Safaris into a professional tour operation offering more than one tour option.

Since then we have grown successfully with twelve organised trails and the ability to customise trails for those looking for exclusivity.

Marc and I share the same vision to create a business that is based on personalised attention and the desire to share our knowledge with those who are not so fortunate as to experience life in the wild every day.

My passion for the African Bush began with my first trip to Kruger National Park at the age of 11. I started as a field geologists in some of the remotest destinations in the world including South America and Papua New Guinea, but the call of Africa was just too strong. In 1997 my wife and I embarked on our new career in Wildlife Tourism, from South Africa to Namibia and eventually Botswana working for some of the most reputed safari operators in Southern Africa as both a guide, lodge manager and operations manager.
In April 2007 Marc and Heiko asked me to join Bush Ways Safaris as General Manager. I jumped in feet first and have never looked back. The three of us share a common passion for the wildife areas we operate in, the product we wanted to offer and the future of Bush Ways. This mutual vision afforded me the opportunity to become a partner in the business in 2009. Since then our business has diversified with the addition of Bush Ways Lodges and the Bush Ways Foundation. As with everything created by Bush Ways, we are driven by our passion for the wildlife and people of Botswana and our desire to showcase our country to those who are fortunate enough to visit us.
